YEAR 6

As Term 3 comes to a close for another year, let’s have a look at what the Year 6s have achieved and participated in over the past 6 weeks.

Writing

This term, student have been learning how to write Persuasive texts. Please read the attached texts.

Science

Students have enjoyed learning about Changing Materials and Micro-Organisms. A large part of these two topics were experiments that explored the concepts being taught.

As part of their assessment in Science, the students in Year 6 have been completing and presenting projects. Please take a look at the links below.

Book Week

As part of Book Week, students participated in a Zart Art Incursion.

Music

Over the course of this year, students have been learning how to read music, play the xylophones and keyboards.

They have learnt how to play “Baa Baa Black Sheep” and “Old MacDonald Had A Farm”. When playing both of these nursey rhymes, some students are playing with both of their hands in unison.

Maths

During our unit on Volume and Capacity, Year 6 students spent some time in the art room completing “water play” tasks where they measured the same amount of water in different size containers and discussed their observations. They all enjoyed this activity immensely.

Badminton

Congratulations to our Badminton team!

Ava, Hassan and Ibrahim were three of a team of five who represented our school at the local Interschool Badminton Competition.

ICT

Students have been working on creating a video to advertise our school. They have created story boards, filmed their footage and are currently editing their shots.
